Hello everyone! It’s been so long since I last posted here and today I’m excited to share with you a romantic couple that I had the chance to document for a while ago.

No other cities in the world can stir up a romantic feeling like Paris. Every corner of this beautiful city will encourage passion, rekindle old flames or even to create new romantic sparks.
There is a piece of paradise in our country, a place where people fly into everyday. Some come to relax, to experience a change of scenery and an alternative to the hustle of a city life, while others come to be inspired. But for a certain two people in love, ready for a new step in their lives, this piece of paradise might just be the destination to begin a new life, committed to one person of their choice. This is also my favorite reason for flying into Bali: to witness the union of two people who are very much in love with each other and to capture the most precious moments of their lives on film for them to revisit over and over again.
I was very excited to finally meet Kevin and Christine. This warm couple arrived in Bali from Hong Kong a day before their wedding, with a glow that beat the color of paradise. They looked excited and ready. The Bulgary Hotel had been set for this intimate event and it was filled with only their closest family and friends. The next day, we all witnessed the union of Kevin and Christine. As they spoke their lifelong promise to each other, the rest and relaxed atmosphere shifted for a while to accommodate the seriousness of their vows. Their words touched every hearts who witnessed and every heart could sense the weight of the meaning of every word that were spoken by Kevin to Christine and from Christine to Kevin. It was a moment worth focusing on, a moment that is important. A moment that is worth capturing to be revisited over and over again in the course of their journey together. After that, everything dissolved back to the rest and relaxed party the couple had wanted it to be. It was a beautiful evening, filled with laughter and dancing and love.
Congratulations Kevin and Christine. I wish you abundance in your new life together with each other, filled with prosperity and blessed with many children.
Cheers,
Jimmy Indra

They say that whenever there is love in the air, an Italian is usually nearby. So what’s more romantic than to capture the chemistry between two people in love in the land where love blooms? The pre-wedding session of Janssen and Emilia was more of a “3 Days Italian Romance” where we shot in various cities such as Venice, Florence and Cinque Terre, a small town of Vernazza and Monterosso.

I am always curious to hear about how people fall in love, and I never tire of hearing about their journeys. One part I especially love is about how they are convinced that they were meant to spend the rest of their lives with each other. Each story is different and unique in their own ways, but to me, they always have the same heartwarming effect.

Truth be told, this was more than just a pre-wedding session for me. It was an ambitious adventure. Andika and Vivia both work and live in Texas and at the time they booked their session, they asked me to pick out any location in the US to do it in.
I have always found traditional Indonesian weddings fascinating. While our country is made up of different ethnic groups with various customs and traditions, we can always count on the same captivating mixtures of colors, joy and solemnity. Traditional weddings are often rich in symbolism and when we absorb the meaning of it all, that’s when weddings become emotional for everyone, not only for the bride and groom and their families, but also for the attendance, as well as the people – such as myself – who are privileged to witness the start of a couple’s new journey together.
Today I’d like to share with you one of my favorite Javanese weddings. It’s of Aryo and Saras.
There are many rituals of a Javanese wedding that I find interesting – such as “siraman” which is one of the first rituals done to prepare the couple for the ceremonies. It means “to bathe” and is meant to cleanse the couples’ bodies and souls; the ritual of “Wiji Dadi” where the groom breaks an egg with his right foot to symbolize that he is ready to become a responsible husband and father, and where the bride cleanses his foot with water mixed with several types of fragrant flowers as a symbol of her dedication and faithfulness to him. But what I especially enjoyed – especially in this wedding of Aryo and Saras – is the ritual of “Sungkeman”. This is an emotional moment where the bride and the groom will ask their parents for forgiveness of their past sins and blessings to marry the person of their choice. Here they express their gratitude for raising them thus far and ask for their permission to be released from their houses to spend the rest of their lives with the good person that has won their hearts. It is truly an emotional moment, for both the couple and their parents. Their emotions filled the entire room as tears filled their eyes and happiness filled their hearts.
I hope you enjoy this video as much I enjoyed directing it. To Aryo and Saras – congratulations! Here’s to your happily ever after.
Cheers,
Garry V.

There two words that come to mind when I think of these two: generous and thoughtful. My wife and I will always remember the time Ronald and Yusi met us at the airport upon our arrival in Perth for their pre-wedding session. It was a day after our wedding anniversary, and they surprised us with a freshly baked batch of macaroons with letters spelling out “Happy Anniversary”. It was a gesture so heartwarming to us.

I thank my lucky stars every single time I get a pre-wedding session with an interesting couple, and Handy and Christine are one of them. He’s the funny guy – you know more like dry funny – witty, quick with comments and jokes. She’s the mysterious beauty that has caught his attention ever since they first met. He’s been stalking her social media since seven years ago, but I’m sure that habit stopped once they got together a year ago.

Sometimes we get lucky enough to meet a couple who just clicks so much with us that we become attached to them. Edith and Wynne is one those couples for me. I had such a great time shooting their pre-wedding session that I wished I could have been the one to capture their wedding as well. But I’m sure that our paths will cross again someday soon.
