We just had a baby shower for one of our dearest friends, Shelvia & Doni last weekend. After a year of marriage, the happy couple decided to venture into the next level of their relationship into parenthood. They are expecting a little baby girl this summer.
Somewhere towards the end of the shower, as our expecting friends opened the baby gifts, we got to talking about our hopes and wishes for the little one as well as some noteworthy advices from friends who have already jumped into the parenting wagon before them.

On a fresh mid-autumn morning, we found ourselves playing with Jeffrey & Lenny in an apple orchard in a small town of Picton southwest of Sydney. It's quite a sight, especially for someone who had never seen a real apple growing out on trees. For most of us, including myself, Apples grow in supermarket baskets or tucked inside a pie. To see them growing on endless rows is just something else. Hey you know what, if you've been looking at the happy couples featured on our blogs, you must have thought the same 'Wow!

When I first met both Kelvan and Catherine, they were very clear in their interpretation of their wedding: "we just want to grow old with each other". It's heartwarming to know this commitment that they have for each other. Because all the party, the celebration, the nice decorations and the beautiful venue will only last for a day and night. When the day is over, they will only have each other to start walking the beautiful journey together. And for Kelvan and Catherine, I'm betting that it would be an adventurous journey, as we found out that Catherine has a very similar character as Kelvan and is pretty much is a female version of Kelvan. They are both outgoing and friendly, very wacky and fun, they both like to party, and in the same way, they are both very determined and sometime strong headed, which will always make their journey interesting ;).
But knowing that through thick and thin they are both willing to commit to stick by each other and to watch each other grow in beauty, really touched my heart. Til' then, our job is to capture every beautiful moments on their BIG day and make sure that the moments will last a lifetime. It was a day to remember for all of us in Khayangan Villa, Bali. And I hope that this Same Day Edit we produced for them will give a little glimpse of that beautiful day. Grats again Mr. and Mrs. Halim... I mean Mr. and Mrs. Firman :)
Here's a modern day love story, we only hear in songs. Years ago, as Budi was walking by his school yard, he saw this innocent, pretty girl that's just so his type. But of course he had to wait, and it was quite a wait since Dewi was still in her primary school. So for many years, all he could do is just keep in touch with her. They keep bumping to each other in between classes. One may call it coincidence, but I call it persistence that one day they could be together.

Provence and Paris, two cities that captivated the heart of these love birds. From the beginning, Gigain & Vennie wanted something casual, journalistic and honest...with a little touch of glamour in Paris. So we set out to make that happen. As much as we wanted to take great pictures, we didn't forget that it's the memories that matters the most. Now looking at these photos, they take me back to the fresh early summer breeze as we were biking in Paris.
Day One, Paris

Hola...
Lately I find couples to be a whole lot more creative, coming up with interesting ideas for their pre-wedding. But none can beat the excitement and randomness of ideas that Roby & Jen combined for this photo session. To my surprise, we did it all. From the shooting on a yacht, basketball dunk, "becak", noodle+coke and my favorite KamenRider V3 costume :)

First of all, let me say this, one of the reasons I love shooting weddings, is to get to know the couple as well as their family. It is like celebrating and capturing happy moments of good friends, I feel so blessed. I know Kelvan's and Catherine's family way before. I shot Catherine’s sister (Tiffany + Hans) and Kelvan’s sister (Regina + Joseph) for their portraits session. And now it is their turn, they both picked LA and Vegas. I feel nervous, excited, and happy all in the same time.

Big congratulations to the newlywed Ferrick & Anna, who tied the knot last week :) What a wonderful celebration. I'm looking forward to post their wedding photos soon, but for now...here's what we did for their pre-wedding. At this day and age, with all the Skype and BBM, I can't imagine couples writing love letters to each other. But they did, and a lot of letters. So here's a glimpse into the love story of Ferrick & Anna.

From the beginning, Kaleb & Ribka wanted to have their pre-wedding photos taken in Japan. They are so obsessed with anything Japanese. From comic books, songs, movies, culture and of course Japanese food. We have been so looking forward to that session as well, but our plans changed when awful tragedy strikes Japan. Instead we came up with another plan, shooting in Jakarta & Paris without losing the 'cheerful & sweet' feeling found in Japanese comics. Here's their first session shot in Jakarta, our very own Axioo studio.
