In the next twelve hours, Willi & Merlin will exchange their vows and soon to be pronounced husband and wife. So let me introduce you to the latest couple in town :) It's my pleasure knowing such a cool couple, who's always happy no matter what happens. For their pre-wedding photos, we traveled to Macau, HongKong & Paris. Three different cities, but one thing in common, it rained all the time!

Oh yes, you must have seen Fritz & Nara's photos on our blog before. First it was their pre-wedding photos taken by David, then their wedding day video...now it's my turn to blog for their wedding day photos. I've heard so much about them even before their wedding day. The whole office was buzzing with excitement saying how fun loving and charming they are, so my curiosity got the best of me. Who is this couple?
For those who hasn't been to Shanghai before, allow me to spread some love. It's a city like no other. A combination of old & new, western & chinese, full of culture and yet so modern. Don't get me started on food. Let's just say, there's more than you can ever imagine. I guarantee you'll have a tough time going on a diet to Shanghai. Ok now imagine a population of more than 20 million people in Shanghai...what problems will I face as a photographer?
To my favorite couple Ray & Ria, thank you for totally trusting me to shoot for you both. No matter how many times we've changed the destination (from Japan to Korea), how the weather turned out (rained most of the time during our shoot) and how untimely the accident that happened to my foot (causing me to be limping during most of this photo session), you guys still cared so much & trusted me to capture your love story. Thank you guys for being such wonderful friends :)
Earlier this year I get to shoot for an ultra cool couple Fernando & Caroline in HongKong and Macau. Guess where would a guy from Manado meet a girl from Semarang? Jakarta? Bali? Facebook? Nope...Hard to guess. This is where things get interesting. I always ask that question, "How did you two meet?" Then wait for what seems like a thousand ways to answer it. Constantly amazed at how God brings people together. Sometimes in the most unexpected day, it just happens. Ok ok to spare you from guessing the wrong places, they met a few years ago in Manado, then became good friends in Melbourne (i guess this is where the magic begins *wink)

Over the last few years, Axioo has been synonymous with fun, playful, lively, and a little insane group of people. We consist of not only photographers, but also graphic designers, videographers, editors, stylists, sales, in-house chef and the whole shebang. Once in a while you should come over our studio for a meet & greet session. Before that, here's a little video of our last outing trip to Bangkok, a glimpse of who are the people behind Axioo. And yes, we have more ladies in the team ;)
This clip was taken sometime back in February during our trip to Bangkok, it's quite a while ago. I didn't even remember Garry and the video team recorded this. It cracks me when I first saw it. What a hilarious bunch of clowns we are. Warning, nothing is scripted, it is what it is. Some scenes reminded me of Fear Factor, so if you're squeamish about eating insects, you might want to skip parts of the video.

I find this quote fitting for Alvin & Yuliana, there's just something about seeing them together, their chemistry shows so much love. It doesn't matter where we shoot for their pre-wedding, they just look great together, but of course Paris adds romance to every shot.

When we're shooting a couple in the biggest day of their lives together, we always keep our eyes and ears open. We're not only trying to listen and to see the things that are going on that day, but also for the very essence of the day. We're trying to see how much the couple love each other, what's so special and valuable about their relationship, and knowing how they actually feel that day. Some of you might have known and read about Mike and his extraordinary proposal to Eyvette in Bali from our earlier post, and in their wedding day we all saw how wonderful the decor was in Mulia Hotel Jakarta, the loud and super fun friends they have, and most importantly how beautiful the bride was in her wedding dress. All those things excite us.
But what excite us most, is when we saw and heard the essence of this day from the bride and groom themselves, how much they love each other. That what really matters to them was that day they were marrying each other. They were marrying their best friend. They were marrying someone that helps and inspires them to be better. They were marrying a person that they can depend on, to help them up when they're weak. They were marrying someone that accepts them as who they are. And that, should be the main essence of every wedding. Because when they wake up the next morning, the wedding party would just be a memory, and they would only have each other.
Congrats to Mike and Eyvette, for having each other.

After spending an unforgettable Christmas together in London for their pre-wedding photo, the stranded plane, unusually cold London weather and still have a good laugh, we know them well enough to see how madly in love they are. They look so good together :) So for their wedding day, I knew what to expect. No matter how small or big their wedding is, they would still cuddle and wink at each other, enjoying each and every moment that comes along.

In a year where we shoot over a hundred weddings, there are a handful of them which you really are looking forward to. This wedding definitely ranks in as one of the top most anticipated weddings in AXIOO. Not because how big and spectacular it's going to be, but because it's the wedding of our very dear friend whom I've known and loved for over a decade, and a dear friend to AXIOO in general. Jilliane, or Jiji as her friends call her is one of the best friends that you can have. She is thoughtful, caring, and very protective of her friends. She loves to cook and she's great in organizing stuffs, for me, she's one of the best person to look for if you wanna add a 'WOW' factor to anything that you're doing. And she's marrying one of the greatest and one of the most patient guy a girl can find these days, Malwin. Malwin loves football, loves football and loves football. Did I mention that he loves football? And they are so blessed to have finally found one another.
The wedding took place in Padma Hotel, Bandung. It's one of those weddings where you don't know who's doing what, yet you see everyone is busy doing something, trying to make everything perfect for the couple. For us, and I believe for most the the vendors out there that day who are also mostly friends of the couple, it's not actually so much to working, but rather like helping a great friend. I felt like I was a part of the family trying to make sure the wedding was great, and you can't call that work.
So that day everyone drove and flew from all over the place, just to be in this one spot in Bandung. To witness a great union of two great persons, two wonderful friends, who had to go through so many challenges and obstacles just to be standing where they are, saying their absolutely touching vows to each other. If people were to ask me how the wedding went, I would simply say: I was there, to witness two great lives, finally became one.
Congrats Malwin and Jiji. Have an awesome journey together. We love you both.
