We fell in love with Bali. We love the blazing sun, the Simpson clouds, the sandy beaches, the lush rice terrace, and the soothing sounds of the clashing waves against the rugged coastlines. We love it so much that we couldn't resist making its magnificent landscapes a beautiful backdrop to many of the love stories we've captured.
So it is with great pride that we set our foot and build ourselves a home in paradise. We simply cannot wait to decorate more love stories with the amazing colors of this Island.

Raycent proposed to Lina in Venice. They even had a few portraits done there. Then they wanted to have another session here in Jakarta.
I consider myself a lucky filmmaker. While other movie directors may struggle with finding the perfect script and story to make a good movie, I just have to open my eyes and ears to a couple's love story and capture what I see. It is always interesting to me how a couple found love, how they overcame their differences, what obstacles they stumbled upon on their path towards the altar, and how their love grew in the midst of the difficulties and doubt. Following this journey moves me. And it should be the main focus of Same Day Edit videos such as these, so that the guests who come to celebrate the couple during the reception may share in the love story. Same day edits should be, in my honest opinion, realistic, cinematic, believable and yet romantic, and everlasting.
For Henly and Vera's video, we journeyed to Bangka, accompanied by Jakarta's own uprising photographer Jan Engelbert. He said he missed the original taste of the original Martabak Bangka and he's already friends with the bride and groom anyway so we decided to bring him along. (Ha!)
We had a fantastic time shooting on Paray Beach for 3 days and 2 nights. Big thanks to Mother Nature who delivered the wind that made everything pretty much alive. Huge thanks to the happy couple who shared their story, who showed their romantic sides at every turn (although it might have been harder for someone *wink at groom) and for being so completely natural in front of the camera. It is easier said than done, I know, and I truly appreciate that.

One of the greatest things about my job is the chance to meet different kinds of people. A wise man once told me that "your resources is in your relationship" and I believe him. We can learn a lot from people only if you open up your eyes, your ears and your heart to them. By cultivating a good relationship, not only can you draw out wisdom and growth, you can also give back. And that's always a great thing.
Do you know what makes me happy? Adventure through a country with beautiful spots to shoot at. This trip with Alim and Yovita will stay with me for a long time. Unforgettable, I'm sure.
We first shot at Old Sacramento where everything just oozes cowboy vibes. It is a quiet place with many interesting spots. And the outfit that Alim and Yovita prepared for the shoot was so fitting that the old western feel was just too great to miss.
Ballroom weddings. They tend to receive the cold "same old, same old" comments lately. But I beg to differ. After having attended numerous weddings, going after the little details that make the moments throught the day, I still think that every wedding is unique. Especially weddings in which every tradition or events are wrapped with the intimacy of those closest to the couple. Smiles, laughter and happy tears colour the day, and that is always a joy to capture.
Being a part of a collective culture such as Indonesia, it is not unusual to have a long (and I mean loooong!) guest list. Friends and acquaintances from friends and acquantainces are usually on it and I won't be surprised if the bride and groom seem to be lost in that sea of people for the night. However, it is a privilege for them both, because there is also that much people wishing them well and praying for their happily ever after. That is why I think that exciting speeches from those closest to the couple who knows the couple best are so great to be included at the celebration. Not only are they entertaining, but they also tell the world (or at least all the other guest in the room) a glimpse of who they are celebrating. From behind my lense, it is always such a joy to watch the laughter as a result of all that is said.
I really enjoyed William and Mira's special day. I hope you do too.

These are the words of Charles Limb, a doctor and a musician who researches the way musical creativity works in the brain.
I believe that every wedding is unique. It can never be the same from one to another. Each always has its own unique story to tell. Personally, I'd like to consider myself a candid videographer. I let things roll out as they are and put extra attention into capturing the details that surround me. Because it is these details, big or small, that make up the series of mini stories that are scattered throughout the day. When they are combined together, these details present themselves in the form of a powerful message.
Filming Jeffrey & Yohana was such a joy to me and the team. I personally loved to see how passionate Jeffrey is to his bride, Yohana and found his speech during the dinner reception especially touching. The chemistry between them is just magical and when it happens in front of my very eyes, well... that just simply cannot be ignored.
I hope you enjoy this short clip as much as I have filming it.
