Doctors in love

Don’t believe everything you see on those medical drama series, because THIS is what doctors in love really look like in real life!

Soong Family Portraits by Adi
In front of the camera (for a change!)

We’re a family of photographers. You’d think we have lots of pictures of ourselves, right? Well, we could actually do with a lot more. Being behind the camera all the time, we forget sometimes that we need to capture moments with ourselves in it. Moments that we might want to look back on in the future, moments that we might miss later when our children are no longer children or moments when the love we shared was the strength that got us through the day.

The Wedding by David
Fergus & Yelli

When you shoot weddings as often as I do, you might think that the events get blurry after a while, right? But you know what, they don’t. There is always a pull in the event, a certain attraction that is different every time, that draws you into the moment and leaves you with a memory, even the slightest one.

Fergus and Yelli’s I will always remember. I remember their names, because Fergus is one I don’t hear too often. And then I remember their wedding. It was a fun and surprising one.

Denny & Angela by Jan
Fashionably Romantic

I always admire couples with a story, one of a time a distance and hardship but in the end they both made it anyway. Denny and Angela is one of them. They met for the first time in Melbourne Australia where they were studying and their story went on from there. Then they were separated by distance as Denny came back home and Angela stayed. Year later, Angela came home for a short period of time while waiting for her Fashion Business Studies program to begin in Malaysia. Again, they were separated by distance. But miles apart didn’t stop them from always coming back to each other.

The Wedding by Dre
Suffian & Zaiza

I’ve shot some memorable weddings since the start of my career but this one is special and it’s definitely a first for me. The first traditional Muslim wedding I’ve shot and the experience was spectacular!

I thrive on capturing weddings where the couple really looked like they had a great time, like it really was the greatest day of their lives. And today I’m going to take you through the day I had with this super nice couple.

Kent & Shau by David
You are my home

We first met Kent and Shau Fun over dinner one day in Singapore and we hit it off instantly! This couple is amazing! They are fun and cool and madly in love with each other. They did a shoot in Melbourne with Ivan (an amazing album!) A few weeks later, Shau Fun did a beauty portrait with Fen (another beautiful album!) and then we did another shoot for them in Jakarta. These two are just so inspiring that we wanted to create something casual from daily routine and turn it into something beautiful.

Rudy + Peni Same Day Edit

This time our team got the privilege to shoot a wedding in Solo, one of the historic city in Central Java which is also known as the "City of a Million Tales". This beautiful and calm city is known for its very patient and well mannered people. It's really interesting for us to be in a city that is a complete opposite with the fast paced and often chaotic city where we came from, Jakarta.

Once we arrived in Solo, we were greeted by our bride to be Peni, who is super nice, gentle and caring who, in spite of all her busy schedule during the preparations of her wedding still showed a typical Solo hopitality. Soon after we get to meet Rudy, who is also as kind, friendly and an overall nice guy. They both make such a beautiful 'Solo' couple.

Personally, I really love shooting Indonesian Traditional Wedding because of all the little details which are not only unique but also each items, and customs hold a very deep historically meaning that has been handed down for many generations. From the decorations of the house, the accessories worn by the bride to the very strokes of the bride's make up hold a special meaning. We are privileged to get a first hand explanation from some of the experts who have been doing what they do for more than 50 years!

Weddings have been around forever. And sometimes we do all the traditions in a wedding, just because everyone else is doing it in our culture, without paying a close attention to what these traditions really mean and why we do what we do in a wedding. Sometimes the meaning of the things that we do in a wedding even gets lost and they just become meaningless routines.

It's a nice change for us to get to know the meaning of some of the traditions that we do in a wedding, especially in a tradition-packed wedding such as this. Congratulations Rudy and Peni! May you forever make a lovely duet in Solo.

Johan & Yuna by Ivan
The greatest love story

The greatest love stories don’t always have a stellar beginning. In fact, most of it began with a situation less than ideal and through some exciting turn of events, the couple created their own happy ending. They don’t usually meet at a local coffee shop and fall madly in love with each other. They don’t accidently bump into each other at the corner of the street and realize that they’ve spent their whole lives just waiting for each other. And they sure don’t hear each other sing and want to finish each other’s duets for the rest of eternity.

The Wedding by Ivan
Yohanes & Jessica

Weddings are memorable for the couple that is getting married that day, we all know that. But what we often don’t realize is that weddings can be memorable for those who attended or took part in that day. Yohanes and Jessica’s wedding was such an event for me.
