God works in so many beautiful ways for a person to find his soulmate, like this one particular story of how Ivan met with his.

It all started when the hospital in which Ivan was working in needs a particular land to expand. After searching for a while they found a piece of land that is suitable for them, and they found out that the owner was from Palembang. So they arranged for a meeting with the owner so that they can offer the owner with a proposal to buy the land. Ivan, was one of the persons assigned to handle the negotiations with the owner during that meeting. What he didn't expect the owner to do was bringing his beautiful daughter to the meeting! And yes, it was love at first sight for Ivan as he couldn't take his eyes off Vivi, the beautiful daughter. A lovely young lady with an unforgettable smile from Palembang.

Vivi was not only beautiful, but she was also smart, humble and a very easy going person, Vivi was a person that everybody loves. And after that first meeting, there were a few more meetings. And each time giving a chance for Ivan to get to know Vivi a little bit better. In short, the landowner accepted the proposal and the transaction was a success. In addition to that, Ivan found another success as he succeeded in winning the heart of Vivi as Vivi also accepted his proposal.

So like I said earlier, God works in a beautiful way for Ivan to find his soulmate Vivi, clearly a divine proposal to me. Well... Maybe there was one Director from where Ivan works that really wanted Ivan to meet Vivi and 'helped' set up the meeting between them. But hei, God sometimes also send His 'angels' to help do His divine works..

I love shooting weddings so much that I have decided to do it often (Really, is it that obvious? ha ha ) and this wedding was an exceptionally FUN FUN FUN one to shoot. It was one I truly enjoyed shooting. I arrived early in the morning at the Bride’s residence and since then I was already greeted with such a glow from happiness deep within. She was stunning! I couldn’t get enough of snapping her expressions with every move she made.

This is actually our 1st wedding in Palembang, a city rich with their sea product (fish) and famous their local food called Pempek. Located in Western part of Sumatera, people in Palembang mostly eats Pempek rather than rice. They can eat Pempek from breakfast till dinner. Pempek itself is actually combination between "Sagu+Gabus fish". That's why we are extremely excited to shoot a wedding in Palembang, one is to taste the delicious local dish, but secondly and more importantly, because we are shooting a wedding of one of the property lords in Palembang, Fredy and Nova.

Freddy as I know, is a very strict man, but yet very sweet to Nova. He is typically a very discipline guy, perfectionist type of guy, and independent. What I can say for sure is he is very lucky to have Nova.

Nova is very sweet girl, although she owns one of the biggest hotel in Palembang she is a very humple person. She is always full of smiles, even while shooting from the early morning till late at night, she is always smiling to everybody.

And that smile is contagious! We really enjoyed ourselves there even though we had to deal with many different challenges of shooting in a new and unfamiliar place. The whole day, that smile kept us going, and we ended up having the time of our lives there in Palembang, and as we can see, so did the rest of the 2000 people in their jam packed reception.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I also find new lessons on love doing what I do, and for this I am grateful. I first met Charles and Vania at AXIOO’s exhibition in Surabaya. They were a sweet, kind and good looking couple from the start. But as I got to know them, I learned about how they finally made it to their wedding day.

I'm always super excited in shooting a wedding in Bali. Not only because Bali has a great atmosphere, exotic beaches and amazing sunsets, but more importantly because Bali has a certain magical aura that makes the couple more intimate. This time I'm shooting Vincent and Sylvia who came from two different cities in Borneo (Kalimantan) island, Balikpapan and Samarinda.

The story begins when one day Vincent laid it all on the line and travelled all the way to the city where Sylvia lives just to meet her because he heard that Sylvia is the most beautiful girl in town. To cut the story short, the prince met the princess, they fell in love and got married in Borneo 2 months ago.

But the story didn't end there. Fortunately for us, they wanted their wedding ceremony re-affirmed in Bali, so they contacted us to shoot their wedding ceremony/honeymoon in Bali! Amazing! I can really feel their love for each other the whole time I was there. Everything was perfect on that day, beautiful weather, wonderful and relaxed couple who were there to enjoy themselves, kind and friendly family members, more than I could wished for.

Elly the make up artist did an excellent job on Sylvia and The Green Light Wedding Organizer (Sandy and team) did a flawless job in running the show. But out of all the wonderful highlights during the whole time I was there, the one thing that impressed me most was the way the couple loved each other. And it's expressed in every time they kissed each other, there is such tenderness and passion in every kiss.

Congrats guys, I hope you guys can continue to express your love to each other forever. And I hope other couples can express their love for each other the way you guys do!

Every once in a while we get the chance to witness fairy tales coming true, and Jefri & Cecilia’s wedding is definitely one of them. It’s been more than a year since we first met Jefri & Cecile. We had great fun shooting their pre-wedding portraits in South Africa and we are still awed to this day by the glamour that this couple radiated during their Paris shoot. We couldn’t imagine the grandeur and romance that we’ll capture on the biggest day of their lives later that year.

And then the long-anticipated wedding day arrived.

I have always been fascinated by Indian weddings after watching "Bend it Like Beckham" and "Monsoon Weddings". It was like a dream come true when i found out that i will be documenting the wedding of Anoop and Kiran.

On the day of the wedding, I stood by at Novieta’s house, capturing moments as she got ready to meet her groom, to be joined together as one later that day. She was so calmed and composed that I recalled thinking she was one of the readiest bride I’ve ever met. A few hours later, her groom arrived and her glow made her even more beautiful. She became chattier, more spontaneous with her words and she suddenly made the ambiance around her more vibrant. This was the real her, I thought. Her man arrived and made her let loose all tension.

This is a long overdue post – because the happy couple have just welcomed their baby boy a few months ago – but since their wedding is one of my favorites, I’m going to go ahead and post it anyway.

I remember that it was a breeze to shoot their wedding. Kelvan and Catherine both looked great from any angle. Their joy and confidence just shines through every shoot. Their Bali wedding was an intimate one, a celebration with just close relatives and a few friends. We had a great weather and the day was just a marvelous as we had hoped it to be.

I was so excited when I first heard that I will be shooting Romeo and Faye’s wedding. In Hong Kong! I know that there is a first for everything, and this is one of those awesome firsts for me!
