When they say, careful what you wish for, you might actually get it. That's what happened to me and traditional weddings. Now I'm hooked!
Here's a continuation for the story of Bobby & Priska, who's imagination for their portraiture 'Alice in wonderland' got me on my toes. I love shooting for them since day one. So I've been waiting for this moment to shoot their wedding day. Sacred traditions, family bonding and their cheerful personality blended together making this a one of a kind wedding.
Beware these images will make you fall head over heels over the intimate wedding of Nicholas & Natasha. This is the dream wedding for many couples and also a heaven for photographer. I love love love shooting small weddings. How many times have I said that? The intense intimate bonding between friends and family makes small wedding a heartwarming celebration. I also love the Do-it-yourself element of this wedding. Natasha and friends add a layer of playfulness and creativity by handing out bow ties to guest, handmade tea bags as souvenirs, and beach side decoration for the photo booth.

We first got to know Edric and Anita during the pre-wedding trip to South Africa, and we know how fun and loving they are as a couple, so we're very excited to shoot their wedding in Bali. Both of them were hoping to get a more intimate and relaxed feel having their wedding in Bali, and we wanted to make sure that it translated that way in our shots. One thing that got us excited was that we know that Edric was planning a surprise for Anita on their big day, so we decided that this would be the centerpiece of the same day edit.
Well the big day came and everything went beautifully. Anita received the surprised and straight away she broke into tears as she was reading Edric's heart poured into the beautiful letter he wrote, the only one that complained was the make up maestro, Mr. Peter Saerang because he had to retouch the ruined make up again (just kidding).
When you have your wedding in Bali, the thing that you really pray for is for a nice weather. And God answered Edric and Anita's prayers on this day as the day was beautiful the whole day and it stayed dry throughout the wedding reception at night. It seemed as if everything had worked together magically to set up a beautiful wedding on that day. When I was standing there looking at all the people enjoying themselves and pondered back at all the beautiful things that has happened that day, I could only say to myself, that this has been a blessed day in Bali.

The last time I went to Makassar was 33 years ago. Stayed there with my family for 4 years before moving to J-Town. So when I met Jemmy and Ella and they told me that they want us to shoot their wedding in Makassar, I was stoked!
So we got in early to Makassar, met up with them over a really delicious dessert and listened to their incredible stories. The real funny thing about this couple, is that we have Ella and her bridesmaids who mostly studied overseas, then we have Jemmy and his crew who have been living in Makassar their whole lives. The only thing that they have in common together is their absolutely adorable Makassar accent.. and of course Jemmy and Ella's love for each other.
We really had a blast in Makassar shooting an incredibly fun and gorgeous couple. We enjoyed the food culinary experience, the hospitality of the people and the city as a whole! Can't wait to get back for another wedding in Makassar :)

Well, this is certainly not the first time we have a wedding in Bali that ended up raining in the evening. BUT, this is by far the best, the most spectacular and the most fun wedding in the rain we've ever shot. I'll tell u guys why later.
The day started beautifully, everyone was all smiles and bubbly all throughout the day from preparations to the wedding ceremony. We were all so convinced that it was gonna be a "rainless" nite. Then it happened. Started out as a drizzle, then it started pouring. And we all went to panic mode :)
But then, something incredible happened. Almost none of the guests left their seats. They just took the umbrella that was handed to them, held it in one hand, and ate with the other hand. And we suddenly saw a bunch of yellow umbrellas all across the reception area. It was an unbelievable sight. And then after dinner, everyone continued with the after party, just like it wasn't raining. And yes, they all partied the nite away and we had a blast capturing every moment that nite. The nite ended with most of the bridal party in the pool :p. Well, it was a wet might for sure, but it was because it was raining love.
We were estatic when Jenny told us the good news. She's getting married to Jeremy! First thing I asked was the wedding date. For some reason we managed to work around the schedule for me to not only attend, but also shoot her wedding. Finally the long awaited day arrived, I'm glad I was there to see them finally hitched.
Not too long ago on a super sunny day in Bali, there weds Adenan & Angeline. Well for them, they actually met a long time ago, been in love and dated each other for years before finally tying the knot. I'm always curious what happens before they say 'I do', how's the complete story like, the good times, the bad, the funny days, the quarrels, the proposal and what leads to this wedding day. Looks like only they would know the full version. For most of us, we only get a sneak peek into a tiny slice of their life, their beginning of becoming husband & wife.
Last year I had the wonderful experience of shooting for Leonel & Grace. I've been looking forward to shoot their wedding, ever since I saw their New York pre-wedding photos taken by David.
I love shooting the little details they made ready from the engagement party to wedding day. My eyes are drawn to the pretty tea cups and baskets of gifts exchange. These seems like ordinary items carrying extraordinary meaning of blessing for the couple.
Let's fast forward a little to Ervan & Shinta's wedding day. As I mentioned earlier in their pre-wedding post, of how meticulous they are in planning a French romantic theme wedding, here's their wedding photos.

I say this piece is special, because we don't get a lot of traditional weddings, and this is one of those. We're always super excited to shoot a traditional wedding, because it always has so many interesting details and cultural values that makes the wedding very romantic and colorful.
But this wedding is special also, because this is one of those rare weddings where our team literally fell in love with the bride! Putri has a face that's not only beautiful, but also has a certain aura that makes her seems like she's glowing. She also has a smile that captivates the people around her. Needless to say we had an absolute blast capturing every moment of the day!
PS: Triandi is an absolutely handsome and pleasant guy as well. Too bad all of the team shooting that day are bunch of guys :p
