Beauty Portraiture of Shau Fun by Fen
To gaze adoringly at you

When I first met Shau Fun and Kent, I knew instantly that I was going to like them. They are both so friendly and warm and anyone who stands remotely close to them will surely realize how much in love they are with each other. Shooting for Shau Fun was a breeze, her beauty just radiates through in every shot. And we had such a great time exploring her angles to capture her gorgeousness and her romantic side.

Lessons from a dog

I remember a phase in my life when I fell in love and shared my room with a certain short-haired Chihuahua, named Tequila. This sweet little girl was more than a companion to me, she was my friend. I love how she livened up the pace of my home and how she wagged her tail as she stood by the door in anticipation of my arrival after work. I love how she’d sit with me, as if to comfort me, as I cried on my bathroom floor after a long hard day. She constantly amazed me with the things she did and with her sensitivity towards me that I convinced myself she was a human reincarnate.

SWEETLY CAREFREE

I am always so taken by brides who give herself time to relax a few days before the wedding. That is why I am so delighted at the chance to shoot for Niken two days before her big day.

Niken arrived at Axioo studio on a Friday afternoon so relaxed and full of laughter. Shooting her was such a joy – she was ready and looked great from every angle. I am now even more convinced that she will make an absolutely gorgeous bride.

Bazaar Magazine Interactive edition

Chef Gusteau from Ratatouille says it best "Anyone can cook", and I believe it. I've watched the movie a dozen times with my son Axel, each time it never fail to bring a smile to my face. It doesn't take a degree or culinary school for one to be able to cook. Cooking has to come from the heart. It's a matter of experimenting, combining flavors to suit your taste. There's no right or wrong in cooking, so many different style or techniques to cook a dish.

Nowadays I find the art of cooking is lost in the busyness of everyday life. Other than the lack of time, i think the real hinderance to cooking is the fear of failure. We're just afraid that it won't turn out good. But if you don't try it (not to mention practice it), how would you know the result? Give it a shot. Have fun at it. You might just surprise yourself with your new favorite dish :)

This short video was taken a few months ago by the coolest videographer in town, Yosep Sugiarto. We were shooting for the interactive edition of Bazaar Magazine. I was featured as "Chef•tographer", a cathcy term the editor came up with to describe a Chef & Photographer. It's the behind the scene shopping in the supermarket and preparing a dinner for friends.

If you like it...we'll do more cooking videos in the future :)

Loyalty, companionship and laughter

Dogs have extraordinary ability to enter our lives and our hearts. I cannot count how many times our dog, Wuffy, has made us laugh in a day. All the dog sees is you are it's world!

A few weeks before christmas, we got to meet Aldo and Willow. They are so cute, being puppies, biting everything and spotting their territory everywhere around the house. Thank you Cello and Retha, for bringing them here and play with big mama Wuffy. What a memorable afternoon :)

Axioo Christmas Dinner
Winter in Axioo

Christmas is here!! Oops actually it's a few days after Christmas now. But for us, Christmas is more than just one day, it's a season (more like a week or two) that we celebrate the warmth and joy Christmas brings. There's always something magical about it. Friends seems happier. If you visit our office, you'll hear people humming Christmas songs. I have a feeling our Westie, Wuffy, is also happier around this time of the year. One thing for sure, we celebrate Christmas in Axioo, every year.

We wish you a Merry Christmas & Joyful New Year :)

It's been a crazy year in Axioo. Especially the last few months towards the end of the year, the wedding season is in full swing. Not only the photographers are buzzing, all of Axioo team in the office also worked extra to pull everything together. It wasn't easy. But as a team we gave our best and proudly say we're done with this season. Looking back, I'm still amazed how we managed to create those smiles on our clients faces. For all our team, go pat yourself in the back. Let's plan our Axioo outing 2012 soon :)

This little clip is what happens when all Axioo photographers get together. With Christmas holiday around the corner, we're inspired to entertain you with this homemade video. We hope this will make you smile :)

ps: best enjoy this with loved ones & a cup of hot chocolate.

Having it all

Someone asked me recently to write a guest post on their blog, giving me a specific topic, to which I reacted like this: my hands turned cold, my face lost color and I wasn’t sure I was equipped.

The topic on hand is about having it all, with reference to my novel. My main character Sarah Matthews seemed to have it all. She had the dotting (and uber handsome) husband, the two well-behaved children, a business of her own, and her dream house. In theory, she shouldn’t have had to worry about anything. But is this scenario even realistically possible in life? Can a woman really have it all?

Radiant bride

First comes love and all the glitches that we try to deal with at the time, become the memories that we laugh about later. Sometimes, the brides-to-be get too caught up with wedding preparations and we tend to forget why are we doing the wedding at the first place. We want it to be perfect from biggest to the smallest detailed, and we forget the most important thing is the man standing at the end of the aisle and he is looking at you the way you have always dreamed.
