Do you dream?

“Do you still have dreams? What dreams do you have in your heart now?”

When people ask us this question, most of us fall silent. Our fingers fiddle with our pens, our eyes look up, down, left, right. But no answer could come out of our mouths. When did it start to be such a hard question to answer? I imagine that when we were little, we never found it hard. As children, we never had any problems to dream big dream. But as life responsibilities pile up and we grow up, it’s easy to forget how to dream.

There might be a peer-pressure, a daily routine that can’t be left behind like schoolwork, or maybe parents who force their will to select a different option away from what we want. We tend to over-analyze everything. We spend our time to focus on the 'what ifs' instead of the 'what can be'. We fear the worst of what people around us will think about our dreams. Sometimes, a dream even felt selfish when there were so many great needs. And in the end, we stop dreaming.

I do not know what you're facing to make you stop dreaming. But here's what I know. Inside each of us, God already deposited seeds of unique talent and potential. We can be anything we dream to be and most of the time, the only limit is ourselves. Try to stop being affected by circumstances beyond your control. Let yourself be the best version of you. Let yourself go and fly. You can do whatever you set your mind to. In case no one has ever told you, let me be the first. I believe you can make your dreams come true. Believe in yourself the way a complete stranger believes in you. You can and will do great and amazing things with yourself if you allow it to happen. It’s never too late to do something with your life that you always wanted to do.

Even if dreams are never easy to accomplish and sometimes they seem too impossible to be true, it would indeed be impossible if you stop dreaming and pursuing that dream. Let's rip that "impossible" label off and put in the garbage. And then, like a child, let's remember to dream again.

So let me ask you the same question again,

“What dreams do you have in your heart right now?”
