They say that whenever there is love in the air, an Italian is usually nearby. So what’s more romantic than to capture the chemistry between two people in love in the land where love blooms? The pre-wedding session of Janssen and Emilia was more of a “3 Days Italian Romance” where we shot in various cities such as Venice, Florence and Cinque Terre, a small town of Vernazza and Monterosso.

This super nice and generous couple has been dating for years in Melbourne and they had wanted an elegant and timeless concept for the pre-wedding session. We thought of luxury and high fashion ad materials and they loved it. Moreover, much to our surprise, these two just pulled off every shot, being so glamorous and super addictive to shoot. Romantic and effortless.

Being in Italy set us up for romance, but shooting them made love looks just that beautiful! We shot most of Venice in the Hotel Danieli and places around the area. Everything about the hotel was splendid. Everything – from the room to the lobby even to the gondola docks, it was simply amazing. There was a little drizzle during our outdoor shoot, but it added more to the mood, so we’re grateful for that.  The next day, we were in Florence – my absolute favorite city – where we got some pretty awesome night shots. I especially loved the one by the river. If I had to choose a mental image of romance, I’m guessing these ones might be it.

We continued our journey to small town of Vernazza, where we were surprised to find that this heritage city was damaged by a flood a few months before our visit. I also remember we got drenched from head to toe there by an unsuspecting wave. We got all wet, all of us. But we didn’t let the situation get the best of us, we just laughed our way off to dryness.  This is the best part of working with an easy going couple such as Janssen and Emilia. They make everything memorable. Even if it is something seemingly bad as my camera dying the next day in Barcelona, when I think back on this experience, I can only remember it as being absolutely awesome!

Janssen and Emilia have tied the knot last weekend in Melbourne, and our own Axioo Photographer Jan Engelbert was there to capture every moment. Congratulazioni Janssen and Emilia! May your days be filled with amore!
