I am always curious to hear about how people fall in love, and I never tire of hearing about their journeys. One part I especially love is about how they are convinced that they were meant to spend the rest of their lives with each other. Each story is different and unique in their own ways, but to me, they always have the same heartwarming effect.

Eddy and Agnes’ story is one that still lingers in my mind till today, and I want to take the time to share with you what Agnes told me a while ago. So, one day after they’ve been dating for a while, Eddy took Agnes to a secluded beach on the outskirts of Melbourne where they were living at the time. To get there took effort, they had to travel on different routes of trains and busses. They spent what seemed to be a simple day there, just chatting, joking around and laughing together. But at that moment, it was the comfort that made Agnes realize she wanted to spend the rest of her days doing just that, with that one man.  It was the simplicity of that one day that made her days even more wonderful, and just like that, she knew that he was the one.

I love that story. I love that it doesn’t necessarily take a grand gesture to make a person find the conviction to decide on something so life-altering. Instead, sometimes, that conviction is found in the simplest of things.

Eddy and Agnes will tie the knot next month, and I can’t be more excited for them. I simply can’t wait till the day I get to shoot for them again and watch as they speak their lifelong promise to each other. I may be just their photographer, but I am genuinely happy for them. Eddy and Agnes, congratulations in advance, and here’s to a thousand more of those moments on the beach!
