Every once in a while I meet refreshing couples that make me go: “Wow, these people are cool!!” and Arnold and Kartika are one of them for sure! They’re not your usual sweet romantic couple but they don’t dismiss the idea of sweetness itself. She’s the fun, artsy and loud creative person and he’s the more reserved, calm and cool geek (her words, not mine! Peace Nold!) She’d use all kinds of persuasion to get him to accompany her to art galleries and he’d use all kinds of tricks to get her to help him clean up the house. She loves that he can wear her converse and she can wear his shirt. He loves when she cooks for him even if it means he has to clean up after her mess in the kitchen. They are not your average couple, they are extraordinary!
Couples should take cues from these two who knows how to make their relationship work. There was no first date and no grand proposals – they are just two mature people who know that they click and decided that they are both ready to spend the rest of their lives making each other happy – and they’ve enhanced my views of what romantic can be. Love doesn’t always have to be how it’s pictured in story books or fairy tales. Most of the time, you’ll find that reality can be so much better!
Arnold and Kartika, you don’t just rock each other’s world, I know you rock mine too! Here’s to a happy home filled with all kinds of collectibles, a Dyson vacuum cleaner and I really can’t wait to hear all about Spring Cleaning!
