Every once in a while we get the chance to witness fairy tales coming true, and Jefri & Cecilia’s wedding is definitely one of them. It’s been more than a year since we first met Jefri & Cecile. We had great fun shooting their pre-wedding portraits in South Africa and we are still awed to this day by the glamour that this couple radiated during their Paris shoot. We couldn’t imagine the grandeur and romance that we’ll capture on the biggest day of their lives later that year.

And then the long-anticipated wedding day arrived.

Cecile was up early. She shared the morning with her sisters and her closest friends whom she has known for half her life over breakfast. She got dressed, put her make up on, and calmly waited with her parents for her Prince to arrive. She was more radiant that I’ve ever seen her.

On the other side of town, Jefri was preparing himself for the change he was going to experience that day. It was a big leap of faith and he thought it was one of the best decisions he’s ever made in his life. He was going to marry the woman he loves and who loves him. And he couldn’t wait for their new life to begin. But before he got to see his bride, he had to go through a series of extremely well thought out gate-crashing pranks prepared by her bridesmaids. He had to answer a series of quizzes and chugged down drinks and gave bribes more than he had prepared to give just to see his future wife. When he finally got his foot in the door and laid eyes on her, all was forgotten and everyone could feel the love they had for each other.

Traditional ceremonies were carried out. Tea was served, red pockets were handed over, and a necklace was placed on the bride. But the most important part of this day was the wedding vow, more than anything else on that day. Here the couple vowed to spend the rest of their lives just pleasing each other, to hang on to each other with all their might during a storm, to look for each other during trials, and to share the joys of a day with each other. It was love, spoken for everyone to hear, and no one could withstand the rush of emotions and tears began to fill their eyes.

After the holy matrimony, we watched the couple enter the grand ballroom with such grace and elegance. The captivating décor seemed to provide the perfect backdrop for them. And when they danced under the glorious hanging flowers in the grand ballroom, my mind raced back to fairy tales princesses and dreams coming true. It was a grand and sweet, and heart-warming to all who shared the moment with them. The night ended with a wild after-party with some of their closest friends. Our AXIOO team seemed to be a large part of the guest list. Needless to say, we love a great party!
