This is a long overdue post – because the happy couple have just welcomed their baby boy a few months ago – but since their wedding is one of my favorites, I’m going to go ahead and post it anyway.

I remember that it was a breeze to shoot their wedding. Kelvan and Catherine both looked great from any angle. Their joy and confidence just shines through every shoot. Their Bali wedding was an intimate one, a celebration with just close relatives and a few friends. We had a great weather and the day was just a marvelous as we had hoped it to be.

But one thing I that struck me the most, and still remains so fresh in my memory today, is the relationship between the two families. A day before their wedding, I flew in to Bali to shoot for family pictures. On the beach, the in-laws, the siblings and everyone stood holding hands. It was as if they have been a happy family all their lives. I have seen my share of awkward silence being in between two families that didn’t really get along, and that is why being with Kelvan’s and Catherine’s family was just so refreshing. The chemistry between the two families was nothing short of amazing!

I admire this. I admire the values that the parents have instilled in their children, that the relationship with their parents was important and much deeper than respect, it was love. It is this love that pulls them nearer to them, nearer to each other, and nearer to their children one day.

Congratulations, Kelvan and Catherine. And happy parenting! I pray you will build a happy home for your children just as your parents have done for you.

Cheers,
Paulus
